Booking a Guest Friendly Hotel in Bangkok

In my opinion Bangkok has the best red light district/nightlife in Thailand. Getting a hotel in Bangkok is as easy as just going online and booking one, but you better make sure you book one that is considered guest friendly.

What is a Guest Friendly Hotel?

These hotels will allow you to bring an unregistered guest to your room. When you check in, normally (at least in Thailand) they want to know if you will be staying by yourself or if you are having a guest. When you booked your room you would have indicated single or double occupancy. Just an FYI, there is no additional charge for double occupancy, so you should automatically book it that way.

So when you are checking in, if you are alone you can always say that your guest may be arriving at a later time. They then may ask for her ID card when she shows up. However, if the hotel you are booking is guest friendly, that means that you can bring a girl to your room without question. If your hotel is not guest friendly, then they will either not allow you to have an unregistered guest (pretty rare unless she is a ladyboy) or you will be charged a joiner fee.

How Much Are Joiner Fees?

This depends on the hotel. Some could be as high as 2000 baht. Some as low as 500 baht. These fees can easily be avoided if you just book properly.

What Areas Have The Best Hotels for Bargirls?

It can be argued that the best area for bargirls, gogo dancers and freelancers is Nana Plaza. If you are going to go there, then you should look for guest friendly hotels in Bangkok near Nana Plaza. This list in the link will present to you a number of hotels all within walking distance of Nana Plaza. There are also some that are closer to Soi Cowboy, which is the next best redlight district. Both of them have a lot of girly bars to visit. So, if you are temped to bring back one of these girls to your hotel, make sure you book one that is on that list.

Is it the Same for Bangkok Ladyboys?

Unfortunately, no it is not. Some hotels do not want to have ladyboy sex workers in their establishments. This type of discrimination is something that you may be surprised about especially if you are from a very liberal and westernized society. However it is a common practice in Thailand and you should just accept that cultural norms are different there.

Final Words

I hope by now you have a good understanding of what a guest friendly hotel is. Fortunately some sites have taken the time to contact these hotels to see what their policy on unregistered guests is so that people can book rooms without having any problems later. If you don’t plan on bringing a guest back to your room then you can book any hotel you wish. However if you do, you better make sure that the hotel will not charge you an extra fee. It can just ruin the whole experience.
